Another first – Christmas

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

This is our first Christmas without Mom. I had been doing OK this week. Then this morning at church I reached in my inside coat pocket and found the ‘Memorial’ card for Mom. It brought tears to my eyes. But, on to other things. We went to candlelight service last night at 7:00 pm and then Beth had to go back at 11:00 pm because the choir was singing. We got up this morning and went at 9:30 am. Beth sang a solo of “What Child Is This?” When we got home we unwrapped gifts with Kayden, April and Brian. Kayden was a lot more fun this year then previous years. He would open each gift and say “Oh, thank you so much. It’s just what I wanted.” We had just finished that when Scott got there so we unwrapped a bit more. Had Christmas dinner (the usual – turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, noodles, cranberry sauce, etc.) and ate to much (as usual.) While we were finishing up Kayden brought a pack of cards to Brian and asked him to open them. He said “Mommy can’t open these because Mommy isn’t Daddy.” We thought that was really cute. We will be leaving tomorrow morning for Fort Wayne. We will be there for the weekend and head back Monday morning. I moved our web log. The old one was a pre-installed version. The new one is installed directly on our www.standiford.net web site. However, you can still get to it by going to www.standiford.info. I moved it because I wanted to change the theme and the old one would not let me. I have put a cool Christmas theme on the site. Hope you like it. There is a little snow flake for each posting. The snow flake has a number in it. That is the number of comments on the posting. Click on the snow flake to make a comment. All our wishes for a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. God Bless us everyone.
