Wednesday night, January 21, we went out to eat with some friends from camping. Once a month their family gets together for dinner and they have been inviting us. They usually have 25 – 35 people there. It is like a big family reunion only they have it monthly. Really a lot of fun. Saturday we bought a Nintendo Wii. It came with the sport package so we can now play bowling, tennis, golf, baseball and boxing on the TV. Really a lot of fun. We want to get the WiiFit but have not been able to find it yet. Sears had it advertised but we decided to call first. Had to look up the number and then tried to call and didn’t get an answer. Finally decided to just drive over. I was looking for the WiiFit and saw someone walking by with one. I asked where they were and was told it was the last one. Darn things are hard to find. I also did some plumbing work in the basement on Saturday. I had a small drip and was catching in in a wastebasket and just emptying it every few days. Finally decided to go ahead and fix it. Didn’t take all that long. It is always just a matter of getting started. Sunday, I scrubbed the carpet in our bedroom and the upstairs landing. Hadn’t scrubbed either in a while. Sure needed it. Next weekend is the stairs and the family room. April and Kayden wanted to see the Wii so I was showing it to them. One of the interesting things is that you can create personal characters (called Mii (me)) that you can pick head shape, body shape, hair, eye color, etc. It works like you see on TV with the police artist. The characters look kind of cartoonish but I must have done a fairly good job. Kayden was not paying much attention and suddenly he looked up at the tennis game and said, “Look! Two Pawpaws.” Since I was playing against the computer it showed two of me on one side. At least he was able to recognize me. Well, not much else.

It has really been cold here along with wind. Nothing like what ya’ll have been having in Indiana but cold for us. Didn’t do much this weekend. I did have Monday off. Beth had to work. Nothing else to write.

I decided to go with a winter theme until we get closer to a major holiday. I looked for a Martin Luther King Jr. theme but could not find one so I just decided to stick with winter. Didn’t do much this weekend. We did go out to dinner Sunday night with some friends and talked about how much we missed camping. Sure looking forward to it.

This past weekend was a bit boring. We did go to a couple of movies. We went to see “The Day The Earth Stood Still” and “Bedtime Stories”. I can recommend “Bedtime Stories”. Beth didn’t think that she would like it but she did. I think it would be great for kids as well. That’s about it. I’ll be glad when spring gets here so we can go camping again. Any suggestions for a new theme. Seems like I should take the New Years theme off since we are already a week into the new year.
