Beth and I both took Friday off so we were able to head to the campground Thursday night. American Outdoorsman was at the campground Friday and Saturday filming an episode for the show. Didn’t see them on Friday but Beth and I went to two of the seminars that they did on Saturday. The first was on bait casting and fly fishing and the second was on video photography. After the casting seminar they told anyone that wanted pointers that they could come down for hands on practice. Beth went down and they did film her since she was the only female that tried. I don’t know if she will get on the show or not. The video seminar was put on by a senior producer of the show. It was really interesting but not sure how much use it will be to me. About 1/2 way through the session he dropped one of the cameras on the floor. And these are not cheap cameras. He looked very upset at first and then recovered and said “Well, I guess we will be going to HD sooner than we planned.” The weather was great the whole weekend but sure didn’t seem like August. It got cold in the evening. I even had to put on long pants. Going to have a long weekend next weekend also.

We stayed home this weekend. Was supposed to be ‘work’ weekend for us at home but didn’t really do much yesterday. Just ran a bunch of errands. Worked in the back yard on Sunday. Some friends of ours are on their way back from Alaska. They called up this morning and told us that someone from Gerald MO (close to the campground) had called them and said there was a big fire at the campground. So I got on the internet and found out that the sports arena had caught on fire and burnt down. Ron and Thelma and Tom and Linda have both seen the sports complex so they know what building I am talking about. It will really hurt the campground because so many of the activities are in the sports arena. They had another fire in 2004. The lodge burned then. They are in the process of rebuilding the lodge so now the sports arena will have to be rebuilt also. Just makes us sick. Camping again. Just two couples this weekend. Didn’t do too much. Had great fires both nights. Beautiful weather again. Makes for great campfires. Next weekend will be a Hawaiian weekend complete with luau. Kayden will be with us so it hope the weather is nice. Tomorrow is going to be a rough day. Mom passed away on August 3, 2008. Hard to believe that she has been gone a whole year. I miss her a lot.
