Tuesday night I cut up another one of the logs from the tree that we cut down last year. Still have two to go and one of those is very large. Probably won’t get to work on it any more this week since I am loading all the stuff in the truck that we will need to take to the camper this weekend. Tomorrow night I need to mow the grass again and then Friday night it is off to the campground.
It is Thursday night and I got the grass cut again. Packed my clothes and stuff for camping so I guess I am ready unless Beth finds some more stuff that we need to take along. Probably won’t add to this until we get back from the campground.
We are back from our first weekend of camping. Had a beautiful weekend. It was sunny and warm and dry the whole weekend. I worked through lunch on Friday so I could leave early. We got down to the campground while it was still light but we went to the Creekside Cafe and ate first. One of the manager’s of the Creekside had gastric bypass surgery in November and has lost 138 pounds. She has a way to go but is doing great.
We thought we were going to be the only ones there on Friday night but one of the couples showed up (Bob and Joyce) and surprised us because we did not know they were camping this weekend. We talked to them about an hour and then when they left we finished unloading the truck and went to bed.
Saturday morning we worked on unpacking all the stuff that we had unloaded the night before. Bob and Bonnie showed up about 9:00 am and started working on their camper. We went over and bothered them for 10 -15 minutes just to say hi and then went back and finished our work. We were done before lunch. Had to make one run for a 9 volt battery for the smoke detector and trash bags. Other than that we had not forgot anything. Not too bad. Built a campfire by our camper and the other two couples came over and we sat around and shot the… well, you know. We sat there until we ran out of wood. We were the only ones that brought wood but that’s okay ’cause we have a lot of it. While we were around the campfire Bonnie called her brother and sister-in-law (Bill and Carol) and kidded them about not being there. She said “Are you coming down to the campfire? Oh, that’s right, you didn’t come camping this weekend. That’s too bad since the weather is sooooooo nice.” Really put them on.
We closed up the camper about 5:00 pm and went down to the Creekside with Bob and Bonnie. Talked some more with the gal there that had the gastric bypass since Bob is thinking about having it done. Got home about 8:00 pm. Unloaded the truck and took it back over to storage so now we are catching up with email, blogs, Facebook and TV. It was a GREAT first weekend of camping.
